Our school attendance target is 96%. We ask you as parents to help us to try and achieve our target by bringing your child to school each day. If your child wakes up feeling a little bit tired or tells you they don’t feel like going to school, please do your ‘Good Parent’ bit and bring them in but mention your situation to the class teacher. If your child is genuinely ill we will give you a call and ask you to collect them to take them back home.
If your child needs to attend a medical appointment during the school day, please try and bring them in for registration, then return to collect them to take them to their appointment. Also, wherever possible bring them back to school to continue their learning.
Holidays can no longer be authorised by school in term time, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Being in school matters, that’s why it’s the law. A 2 week holiday during term time takes attendance down to 94.7% without any other absences, this already places the child in the corner category for attendance and reduces their achievement level.
Being in school on time is a positive start to the day. It helps your child get the most from their education and inevitably leads to achievement and success.
Good time keeping means… being in school before the registration bell.
